Wouldn't it be nice if someone had already written out your family tree. Maybe they already have if you know where to look.
That's the opening line to GenealogyInTime's recent article entitled, Why Obituaries Contain Hidden Family Trees. A friend of mine who has recently embarked on the long journey to build her family tree was pleasantly surprised when I pushed her in the direction of Newspapers.com and a hunt for obituaries. It gave her a terrific start on pulling things together and told her some things she didn't know. Take a look at the article and see if hunting down a few obituaries might help you plug some of the holes in your tree.
